Im trying to find tyres for my celica.

225/35/18

Its proving very difficult to find short of spending $400 per tyre.

The current brand is Sunew ys618

Any help would be appreciated.

4 different brands for under $300 at hyper.co.nz, and pirellis for $574..

Picked up Falken FK-452 in that size for $259 each from Top Town.

What is your budget? What sort of Celica? What do you want out of the tyre? (apart from it being quiet, low cost, high grip with long life....)

If you narrow to a 215/35 you'll get a load more options.

I'd rate the Green Max as the best low cost tyre I've used.

Its a 2000 Celica GTS and im in Auckland NZ.

I currently have divinity mags on it.

Am i able to change from a 225 to a 215 without changing my rims ?

Depending how wide they are it shouldn't be a problem

you can get 215's on a 9 and then all the way down to a 7, its no problem, i usually run 225 or 235 on my 10's, my tires are about $125bux each for 18's not sure who quoted you $400 for each thats a ripp off!!!

$125 for 18" tyres? New? Hell, i paid more than that for 14" tyres for the mondeo, cause i cant be arsed with dodgy china china specials. Probably be the last set of tyres it gets in its life.

$125 lol, that gets a middle of the range 14", i'd hate to think what it gets you in an 18".

Federal 595 come in that size.

Should be able to get them for $150 - $200.

I have seen varying reviews for the 452 pretty much they are a noisy tyre and when tread depth declines past half they tend to fall off the cliff.

But they were the only brand that seemed to make a decent tyre in the sizes I was after.

Only did 3000 km on them before I sold the wheels. Wasn't too noisy but a step up from your average road tyre. Still better then any chinese equivilants.

If I were purchase again, would go for a bigger sidewall myself, 225/35 is borderline.

lol the tyres are sweet as been using them for drifting for the last 2 years now, never had one pop off or de-beed from stretching or rip of the whole outer layer like most chinese tyres do when you skid them, i get 17s for around $100.

world of tyres in hamilton, i got toyo t1r 235.45.17 for $150 each last year there so its not always cheap means crap, most people just have rediculous prices.

So do you know someone that works at this tyre place or what? That seems super cheap. I paid 190 each for toyo t1r's 16 225 45 ... From hyper, not even platnum wheels wanted to match this. I just walked in off the street. Seems a hell if a deal your getting them at that price

well all i was trying to get at is that for $400 for ONE tire your getting ripped, most people get the tires i get for say 125 for like 160 so im getting a good deal but in general they are alot cheaper than other tire places i know.
