3sgte sumps & pumps

Im rebuilding a 1st gen 3sgte from a st165, the oil pump is stuffed and I know of oil problems with those engines. I'm sure I have seen st205 3sgte sumps on them? Do the pumps bolt up and you use the sump as well?

But then you would run 2 oil filters?

I am not sure if you will be able to bolt the ST205 pump at all on ST165 block (I am pretty sure the ST185 block is closer to what you want to do).

But if you manage to do it, you would be running a blanking plate (with hollow bolt) over the top oil filter.

The 165 and 185 blocks are very simular, you can use a gen 2 pump on a gen 1 block.

I could even run a remote oil cooler from the original filter location.

But does anyone know if the 205 pump and sump will fit on the gen 1 3sgte?

also, is the gen 4 3sge sump the same as the turbo one?

Save yourself the trouble and buy a gen3 3sgte engine and rebuild that?

might the st205 oil cooler fit in the place where your oil filter was?
