But you don't know what tyres he's been quoted and you haven't said what you bought? Comparing something like a Pirelli to some random wakachangchang tyre you run isn't apples with apples. $400 might be on the dear side, but it could be a top of the range tyre.

evergreen, used to use antyre for same price but not as grippy on track, used the old chinese sunnys once, haha what a laugh those are completely useless its like running spacesavers. but for the front i use toyo's.

I ended up getting GoodYear 225/35/18 for $240 each. Seem pretty good tyres to me. Lucky i got my Chinese ones checked, apparently they had less than a week left before they were going to blow
