1KZ-te rough start

Postby Boost_4_Life » Mon Jan 07, 2013 9:04 pm

Having a few issues with the supercustom performing a horribly rough start when warm ie almost like a petrol engine pre igniting, real rough shudder. Its only on first fire after cranking, then it runs normal. and only seems to do it when the engine is warm. I had the engine mounts checked and apparently they are fine. Someone has suggested a leaking injector. could this be the case? Just after ideas before I shell out and send it to the doctor..

could be something causing the injection timing to be to advanced when it first fires up, it will give that symptom.

hmm in that case could the timing control valve be the issue? It occasionally throws fault code 14 when driving downhill. I've been chasing that issue too, thinking it was fuel filter/drain sensor related. But one of the other listings for fault code 14 is faulty timing control valve.. possibly causing both issues?
