When I drive the car (1NZFE RunX) cold, it appears not to shift into 4th until the temp registers on the gauge. Perfectly fine otherwise, I'm sure I may have read somewhere that this may be normal? Can anyone confirm?

Same story when it comes to VVT and VVTi equipped engines. It won't kick in until the engine reaches a certain operating temperature. It basically stops damage to the engine/transmission from working too hard too soon.

some cars wont even pull full boost until up to temp, all are safety measures
