DYNO plot

Postby dnalunchie » Tue Feb 26, 2013 10:10 am

Hey guys I know this is for a subie but many of you guys find dyno plots that compare mods quite interesting.

The car in question is a V8 non-sti wrx 2ltr.

First graph was stock and second is with TBE, HKS flat panel filter and a remap.

The company is STM (obviously)

I decided to post it up there because I have had to accept the fact that due to my student loan situation (wanting to pay it back ASAP) I wont be able to buy an STI any time soon but a normal wrx is much much cheaper and I also miss the practicality of my flatmates caldina GTT and of course the WRX comes in a nice hatch shape.

Something like this I could own within the year where as an sti would take me much longer and I just don't know if I really care that much about the extra 10 or 20% of ability the sti grants. I mean Sergei's sti is an amazing thing but he is in a much better financial position than me so I have to accept my own limitations. Plenty of time for STI's etc when I am older.

Govt has no problem saying F-U to you though. So should not feel bad about it.

Just buy something reasonable (not performance car), like a Vitz, and save a grand a month for two years and you can get your STI.

Or take a loan for 3 years for same grand a month, and have it now. You will find that unless you earn good money you will not be getting car loan for 25+k with reasonable interest.

Thats pretty good power there, my 2004 GT-B legacy is doing about 181kw with similar mods.

- Subtech front pipe
- Simota Panel Filter
- Gary Capper Tune

Not sure what your budget is, but the 2004+ Legacy GT-Bs in Manual are cheaper than STI WRX and with the above mods can push into the 190-195 rwkw range quite safely.

Yeah I love the leggies but just a little bigger than I would like, I like the shorter hatches

i had a version 8 sti spec c, absolutely amazing vehicle. hands down best all round car iv owned. It had stainless tuned length headers, steve murch highflowed turbo, 3inch mandrel exhaust, apexi pod, and link g4 plug in. Made 234 awkw on 18psi and was gorgeous to drive. nice smooth power curve, driveable power. And the factory brembos really helped too. I picked it up for 18 which was an absolute steal, but worth the extra 6g over a non-sti.
