Different headlights = wof fail?

Postby iOnic » Sat Mar 09, 2013 6:48 pm

One of my WOF fails on the Skyline was headlight lenses being too dull. I've cleaned them up but now you can clearly see that one side is a chrome housing headlight and the other is a black housing. I don't think it matters but figured I'd better double check before I send it back during the week.

Still some yellow to clean off the driver's side but that's the later R33 black housing light.

If they don't check it with a meter you'll probably be fine. Though th output is likely to be near the same anyway

This place is good to me. I was surprised that it failed on the lenses. They were only slightly yellow but I guess a fail is a fail

Tarnished headlamp lenses put out a scattered pattern on the beam setter thats why they are generally failed. All they would do is use cutting compound to bring them back up again, if thats what youve done then you should be ok for recheck 8)

Just had a look on TM and in typical Skyline fashion there are plenty of headlights for sale so I guess it's an easy fix if it fails

I'm not sure who is getting burnt? The one who can't tell them apart of the one with the ae101, so confuse. :P

they can only fail you now if the reflectors are no good, not the surrounds inside light.
