F-series Cressida live axle

Came across this on Trademe: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =570628963 The guy says its a 4-stud F-series from a Cressida, I reckon its gotta be E series. I've already asked him and he swears its F. Anyone on here seen a 4 stud f-series live axle in a Cressida?

Also, does anyone know if any of the Liteace / Townace vans that we have in NZ came with a 4 stud F-series like the Aussie Taragos?

I have a cressida wagon and it's very much an E & if I run a cross reference check for the diff head in my car on Toyodiy.com it comes up with lots of townace/liteace's

Get measurements from housing face to end of driveshaft flange, then compare to F series and E series. I can probably get some guaranteed F series measurements tomorrow night but don't have an E series any more.

I've had two F series 4x114 4 stud live axles.

One was from a left hook European MA40, (From The Greatest Ben ages ago!)
The other from an RA60 Celica from the South Island... Bought sight unseen with fingers crossed, turns out it was one too.

But point being there is such a thing, just not sure if I've heard of one coming from a Cressida before.

The RA60 or MA40 F series would be a direct bolt-in for my AA60 so getting hold of one of these would be the ideal scenario and save me a lot of hassle. Given that RomanV still has his Carina I'm picking one of those diffs is sitting under its arse end and the other may have been hoarded as a spare or sold to a mate etc. I don't like my chances of him having a spare and wanting to sell it but I figured it was worth asking the question on the offchance that he does.

There seem to be reasonably available in Australia for some reason, apparently they had some RA60 GT models which had that diff, a lot more than anywhere else I've found anyway.

Even if you had to pay for shipping, it would still likely work out cheaper than having someone competent fab up some mounts, shorten axles etc.

You can even buy chromoly axles for them in Australia off the shelf, so they must be around!

I sold my spare diff housing while unemployed :lol:

but I migggghhhtttt be able to get it back.

Will see what I can do...

If I were you, I would buy that 'cressida' diff on the condition that it is definitely an F series, if not then refund.

Because if it is, and it doesnt fit a carina then it'll be an easy peasy onsell to someone with a Cressida instead.

The spare diff housing I had was going to be shoe horned into an MX40 as apparently it would have fit straight up...

Could be worthwhile seeing if there's any clues as to cross compatability on Toyodiy.

F series diff head should be 220 to 222mm from driveshaft flange to housing flange, confirmed across an MS112 Crown and two Estima F series diffs.
