Funcargo engine check light - jumper for code?

My inlaws have a Funcargo, the engine check light came on recently so I would like to find out the code it is throwing. Does anyone know if you can jump 2 pins on the diagnostic plug to get the code on these? If so which ones?

Are these OBD2 compliant?

Pretty sure they are OBD2

1996 on are OBD2. Youll need a scan tool to retrieve codes, older nissans you could bridge terminal under steering wheel and read codes by check lamp.

so its not like the altezza i had where you could bridge a couple of the terminals on the OBD2 port to make the check light flash a code? :?

If it has TE1 and E1 terminals on the connector, I wouldn't see how it was any different to any other Toyota.

What year altezza?

Im not entirely sure but older OBD1 vehicles have a two digit numbered code where as OBD2 start with a letter. POxxx for generic codes and P1xxx for OEM specific so i wouldnt think you could get that from a flashing check lamp.

My guess would be that you will need a scan tool.

seem to recall some of that stuff in the middle doing both, you'll get a more detailed code from a scanner but flash thing still works

thanks for the replies. I have been trying to use a cheaper OBD2 scanner but unfortunately so far we havent been able to get it to communicate with the ecu. Seems as it is a 2000 model it might be at that in between phase where they werent using the OBD2 protocols. :roll:

Does anyone know of any scan software to try with USB connector that might work with that vintage toymota's? :)

Well if it is Toyota Proprietary then you will need toyota tool or a paper clip.

Basically it is not quite OBD2, so jump pin 4 and 13 as per document.

ok cool thanks guys. Gave that a whirl and it flashed up a 2 and a 5, i guess that is 25? :D

Any idea what that relates to? (i am guessing it is probably o2 sensor, but want to confirm.

Interestingly the engine check light isn't coming on any more, but the code will still flash when i jump those pins. :?

Diagnosis
* When air-fuel ratio feedback compensation value or adaptive control value continues at the upper(lean) or lower(rich) limit renewed for a certain period of time.
* When air-fuel ration feedback compensation value or adaptive control value feedback frequency is abnormally high during feedback condition.
* When marked variation is detected in engine revolutions for each cylinder during idle switch on and feedback condition.

I would measure the voltage on OX sensor, and clean the AFM, as start.
