Ultrasonic injector cleaning

Postby cat007 » Tue Mar 19, 2013 11:02 am

Hey all

I need to get some injectors ultrasonically cleaned.
Petroject want $45+gst per injector which I thought was a bit steep.

Are there any other crowds around that can do this for hopefully a better price?

Does that price include a new filter and orings/collars, and a printed out test report showing flow rates and patterns?

If so, then its not a bad price

I had a flow test done 2 years ago on my supra ones and they only charged $10 an injector - plus about $2 per injector for O rings and a lower seal - all including GST

Crazy that the ultrasonic cleaning costs an extra $30+gst per injector!

I remember when I ultrasonically cleaned a set of injectors I bought for my supra, I was very glad I did when I saw how much crap was in the tray afterwards.

I took mine to Diesel & Turbo in Petone.

Filters were removed & cleaned, injectors ultrasonically cleaned, and flow tested, no report, just that all were within 5% or something.
No seals/o-rings needed replacing.

Was just over $100 for 6

Thanks for that - I've asked them for a quote.

Cheers

Wow, I had no idea that it was this expensive.

When I was rebuilding my GTZ motor, I got 4 injectors, ultra sonic cleaned, new filters and flow tested...for free. It was a guy down the road from my workplace, we took a fair bit of work to him, never really saw the invoices, but he said he would do mine for free.

I watched him do it, not much to it really, but I guess you're paying for all the specialist equipment.

What about those Ultrasonic cleaners on TradeMe. Anyone know if they are worth looking at for cleaning injectors?

Not uless it has the flow test part too.

Quite a few of the injectors we clean will jam open after cleaning,
and require the backflush and pulsed testing to make them free again.

If you just ultrasonic them then refit them you run the risk of flooding an engine.
