E-Manage Blue

Who's had experience with them?

I've got an Altezza with the Beams engine and 6 speed and looking just to get it tuned on the setup as it is.

After spending WAY too much cash on my Wrx I just sold, I said to myself Im never spending that much on a car again. I was running fully forged and a G4 link but dont want to go down that route again.

The car has a few bits on it including Japanese stainless headers and an Apexi panel filter in the factory box, I think the cat may have been removed.

Im not really chasing power but would love a bit more torque between 2-5000 rpm and I've read you can pick up a bit by tweaking the factory tune.

I have no interest in boost on this car

Your in welly aye? If so Speedtech wont touch E-Manage cause it doesn't have enough points of tune for thier liking.

The emanage would be a great candidate for what you want to do, as going standalone, and turbo isnt on the cards.

Alot of people put them down due to bandwagon jumping, but for low to mid range builds, they are a perfect match.

thats what I thought as I was even considering a SAFC but the Emanage Blue does alot more for a pretty cheap price.

Who does your tuning Reith?

Have you tried tuning one on a car which runs a modern ECU which is quite clever at adjusting fuel trims using feedback from a wideband O2 sensor (and various other fun modern ECU tricks) yet?

Hi mate, Im not running a blue, Ive got an EMU, and it was set up by a friend of mine who I play toy cars with.

Things change, and I try not to assume given it has been quite a while since we've yarned about this kind of thing :) If you are strongly recommending one for a modern car I figured you may have.

Stoffa - FYI torque gains are typically found by adjusting timing unless the fuel mixtures are REALLY out, and the E-Manage Blue needs an additional harness for timing control.

I spoke to my tuner today, he hates them, suggested either a Power FC or a G4 running like a piggy back setup, i.e keep the can bus stuff running off the factory ecu and use the link to just run the engine.

I thinks being able to change the cam setting is where the biggest gains are, but he did also suggest just running a 2jz.

so maybe stock it is for now

You bought the wrong car if you wanted low down torque. If you like the styling and the chassis then sell it and buy Lexus is300 which has 2jz already.

Power fc's pop up cheaply second hand from time to time (circa$600) on trademe and the like. Which is a better option IMO than emanage if you are paying for tune.

But leaving it alone is easiest option

Yep that is how I would lean, it's the kind of thing you need to go all or nothing if you want to not waste money and time effort
