Exhaust cert place in Auckland?

Postby cat007 » Sat Apr 20, 2013 5:47 pm

Do I have to go to one of the LVVT cert places to get my exhaust certified? Or is that something I can get from pit stop etc?

You have to get it done by a certifier that can do LVVTA exhaust testings, Neil Fraser did mine as he's also capable of certifying exhausts.

$280 is the price tag if I remember correctly, he did mine all in one go (Exhaust + mods)

You'll get a heat activated sticker when you pass, to be stuck on the tail pipe of your exhaust, so make sure it's nice and clean or you'll have issues.

mine clocked in at 96.8dB with a rattle, and it sounds tame.

you don't HAVE to get a cert if you're below the threshold, getting it certed will stop the boys in blue hassling you and arguing with them if your exhaust is indeed below the limit or not - if it's certed then it is, end of story no arguements.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
