I'm sure you can find somebodies passenger seat to occupy Girvs! I'm more than happy to give you a lift over if you can find a way back

Not golfing, driving range. Doesn't normally cost too much to buy 50 or so balls. Get one or two of you to hire a club and just take turns at swinging it :)

The weather is starting to look worse than it was yesterday, the front has slowed down and the weather due for saturday, looks to be due sunday now, with heavy rain for the lower north island.

Im not sure about anyone else, but I wont be hitting golf balls in shitty weather.

If the weather is complete arse, then I think plan B, being lunch in Eastbourne might be a better call as the weather for over the hill is looking just as bad. And if it starts looking like clearing up, then we can go for a drive over the hill...

Thoughts?

I don't mind either way but I have a motive as I pretty much want to see how these new tyres on my car are wet or fine driving doesn't bother me.

But I will go with the majority either way.

I think we should just keep an eye on the weather, and make a call on Saturday afternoon? but either way I'm sure Mark, Phil and myself will be there!

Yeah for sure, weather is never an exact science so lets confirm either way on Saturday arvo.

At this stage, the weather over the hill on Sunday is looking pretty terrible, compared to Wellington area, but lets wait and see how things take shape :)

Have you scrubbed in your tyres a little already, Coryn? I hate the slippery coating used to release the tyre from the mould, always take a few heat cycles to settle down...

Will be happy with either place. That Days Bay Warf cafe was pretty nice last time we went there - so atleast plan B is pretty decent.

I'm happy with whatever you guys decide we do.. :)

But also not keen on driving golf balls in the rain.
Cheers,

Good to hear they have had a scrub already, mate, and without jinxing anything, the weather is looking better and better as the hours pass.

Ive been watching the satellite images and updates, and I think we are going to get away with a dry day now, with a possible shower near the end.

Im sure it will make for the far better day for us to drive so I might look for a couple of nice roads over the hill to go for a cruise on :)

OK everyone who is planning on coming to this...

The weather is looking far better now, and looks like we will manage to get a nice drive in now.

Ive have put together a little itinerary for a drive, incase those attending would prefer to drive their cars, than drive balls at the golf driving range ;)

Meet at Caltex brown owl at 10am
Once everyone has arrived, head up the Rimutakas, possibly stop at the top if somebody has a camera worth taking some photos?
Head down to Featherston, and hang a right at the bottom of the hill to head towards Martinborough
Have lunch at the cafe in Martinborough
The proceed to drive out of town, towards Lake Ferry where we can all park up and have a drink/talk shit/photos etc
Then head back but instead of staying on lake ferry road, hang a left into Kahatura Road which eventually brings us back onto SH53 or through to SH2
Head back over the hill and head home...

If most of you would prefer to stick to Girvs original plan of going to the driving range, then sing out, as if the majority want that, then thats what we will do :)

Sounds good to me, depending on what time we finish food I might skip the last bit of the drive and head back home, not sure about Mark and Phil, will see how the day goes, see everyone around 10 8)
