Tight coilover pillow ball mount
Just installed these the other week and I'm having trouble fixing the spring binding/pop. When I turn the wheel (car not jacked up) the pillow ball doesn't move so its turning the shaft inside the shock body and it binds the spring. I am right in thinking that when you steer it's meant to rotate on the pillow ball? I sprayed some crc on it gave it a good wiggle but made no difference still tight.

This video might help explain it. Fortune Auto radial bearings.

I think it's normal for coilovers to bind up when turning.

You should talk to us first if you have any issues.
When the Fortune Auto coilovers are new ish, they take a while till the Pillow ball mounts loosen up. They have a tight tolerance on them so they last longer in another words.
If you want to get rid of the pop we offer the radial bearing top spring mounts.
These are $100 Pair.

yeah, thought that might be the case, just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing any damage either. I've only done about 50kms on them. I shouldn't have any issues with getting a cert with the binding/popping noise?
other than that, they are very great, I am recommending them to friends.
Cert should be fine, they would be aware of spring popping noises.
Did you have the correct camber plates on your version? So the camber actually adjusts in the correct direction?
