Good honest panel beaters in Wellington

Hi TS'ers,
Earlier in the month, I was parked in my camry outside my physiotherapists, when I was hit by a delivery truck with an uninsured contractor driver.

I reported it to the police straight away, and did lots of pro-active things like get witness statements from people who saw it happen, and cctv footage showing my car was stationary for 10minutes leading up to the accident etc, but after weeks of getting nowhere, I spoke to the police again yesterday and once they found out all the info I had gathered, they said it was clear I was the innocent party or I wouldnt have been getting all the above info to prove my case, so they ended up backing me up and formally cautioned the other driver.

Now the companies insurance is finally coming to the party, and I have to go and get a couple of quotes, so I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on somewhere good to take my car?

I dont want a shoddy repair done by cowboys so was hoping somebody could offer some advice on the best places to go/avoid.

I had the worse customer service/finish work form Johnsonville panel and paint and would avoid.

I have had a fantastic job done at Blair wright in Johnsonville and also had a repair done at autobodies in Webb street Wellington.

I have also had work done at RS Lane and bodyworks in Petone both good jobs

Fingers crossed the insurance company dont want to try and cheap out in any area, and I get my car back looking like it did prior to the crash.

If it was the red car, I think I would have been locked up for assault, as I Only just managed to contain my rage when the maroon missile was taken out lol

I was surprised as well, didnt seem to want to do it, almost seemed like he didnt want the job, resprayed the tiny bit of the corner of the bumper that was hit (insurance job) and would not respray the whole bumper (which other companies have done in the past) prep work was rubbish and it just looked shit, Pretty sure I have done better jobs in my garage on the rally car.
Took about 4 days to do this substandard job as well.

Why did you piss around and not just lodge a claim with your own insurer listing the delivery driver at fault? You would have chosen your own repairer and the car would have been repaired already and you would have paid no excess

You have presumed alot in your post lol

Does your third party insurance cover you when your car is damaged from another vehicle?

If so, can you please give me their details, as Im sure that myself, and many other members will be glad to have them.

Wouldn't bother with 3rd party, both my cars have full cover so I don't have to piss around wasting time and money chasing jews with no money.

If thats what you feel is the best way, then good for you. Each to their own and all that.

I dont see the point in paying full cover on a daily driver car that I have owned for almost a decade, and that is essentially worth next to nothing. Having full cover on it means I would have paid well over the value of the car, many many times, which doesnt make sense to me.

Doing a little bit of leg work instead of paying thousands of dollars seems like a no brainer to me, but I can accept some people dont want to do that and would rather pay for the privilege of not having to.

If I was the sort of person that had regular accidents, or any for that matter, then I would have full cover on all my cars, but luckily I haven't ever had any altercations while driving so fingers crossed my gamble continues to pay off.
