Compression tested it... 4 @ 195-200 psi = me happy.
Also drove it for first time in ages.. I need to do more of that!
Reality: A nasty hallucination that is caused by excess blood in the alcohol stream.

don't see why not. tighter the bend, the more it'll 'collapse' and reduce x sectional area tho.

they wear out REAL fast when mounted on a slight bend. was replacing my flexi every 2 months of daily driving when mine was mounted on an angle..

Thought about taking it for a thrash. Last WOF ran out in March....Just before I started the last lot of modifying and tuning. Decided that if there was a chance I was going to get pulled over for speeding, I should have a WOF.... :roll:

Painted up a new front lip over the weekend and put it on today :D.
Wanted one since I got the car 7 years ago, finishes it off nicely.

If oil lines are all plumbed up and it has a throttle that can close then go for gold

Sunday last weekend: replaced front pads
Tuesday: swapped over bootlid with one that has no spoiler (dont like the look of pulling a spoiler off and leaving holes)
Today: Played in the rain at Manfeild. Kept it on the blackstuff and did a 1:32.1. So allowing for roughly 4 or 5 seconds difference between dry and wet puts me in the 27-28 range in the dry :D

Last 3 days, dropped subframe, removed prop shaft, exhaust, fuel/brake lines and fuel tank in prep for paint. Friend came around today and started to remove all the clips and loom at the rear of the car as well. About to clean up garage a little before we take out the interior.

Then its finishing up some work on the firewall engine loom connector mounting, remove glass and winder mechanisms from doors and get engine in again to measure for custom wheel spacers. Drill some holes to mount cold air intake flange and maybe mockup base of cold air box to see if I have to drill anything else in the bay.

Then remove engine, wet sand 400grit to prep for paint.

Also need to build wide body guards at the front and make some moulds of guards, bonnet and bumper.. RC parts are $$ to replace and I want some moulds in case something goes wrong when car goes back on road.

Put intake manifold back on. Maybe not ready for my Hypertune dreams just yet. I just want my car going!

Intercooler showed up last week which was nice. Just need some decent time to install it. Plenty more joiners needed to hook it all up.

Got a WOF for THE STARVIA on the way to work. Drove to Lower Hutt in the terrible because-no-trains traffic. Clutch leg got a work out.
Took it home at lunch to swap for my motorbike so I don't have to do the same thing on the way home after work.
Turned on all the boost and E85 for 173KW. :D
Every time I passed someone, I could not help but giggle like a school girl as I broke traction(the road is damp) and suddenly found myself in loss-of-licence territory.
I tried REALLY HARD to restrain myself and managed to keep it under 150kph 8O :oops:

CAN'T WAIT FOR TRACK DAY!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Started dissasembling the Starlet for a rebuild on many aspects that in retrospect were rough as $&#$%.

When I built the car I had no engineering experience, now that I do I see heaps of stuff I don't like and want to fix up

Funny, I find heaps of that stuff on mine, but dont know how to fix properly yet.

finally did oil change on the aristo a few weeks back. it was pretty yuck. we did it a bit odd though. to change the oil we unbolted everything off the front of the car to give us more room, and the aircon/fan etc from the passengers foot well. we then removed the engine and sat it on the ground along with trans, driveshaft and diff. we then changed the filter. before we put fresh oil in it we put the engine into the new aristo shell along with trans, etc. redid the needed bits, then filled it with oil.

not bad for an afternoons work...
