Weird 1MZ-FE issue - low idle on incline

Postby KiwiMR2 » Fri Jul 26, 2013 9:21 pm

.....but only with front end up. Directly after this comes knock even with the slightest load.

So can pull into driveway (incline with engine up) and turn off car, go inside, come out later (anytime) & start the car & the idle is low, can hear a bit if sputtering from exhaust if you listen & knock when driving off. Park on flats 5 mins later, turn off & come back 30 mins later & runs fine.

Have tried pulling into incline location & sat listening to engine etc. & virtually instantly it starts. Can DRIVE up an incline & not notice it & have reversed into same incline location & no issue.

So basically only with engine up.

Fuel filter is fine....fuel pump on way out?

Cheers

Just a stab in the dark here, but has it got a non return fuel system? If so, Could it be heat from the engine boiling the fuel in the fuel rail etc (while sitting), and then because of the engine end up, vapour trapped in the rail when engine started? Just a quess.

Morning

Not sure about the fuels system....what type it has, coolant is fine I think, will check though. Why do you think that might cause it?
