Cleaning Seats

Postby mint_86 » Wed Aug 21, 2013 10:42 pm

Hey guys,

Bought a red Bride brix seat tonight but it needs a good clean. It has some grease spots and just general race car filth on it.

Found this post from a while back.

Any tips on cleaning it, or other recommended products to use cleaning it? Because it's red I am a bit hesitant to try anything too harsh in case it fades/stains.

Cheers,
Clifton

Take it to your local car groomers with a dozen beers under your arm, and swap said beverage for said steam clean with nice deoderant :)

What Mr Ree said, ive had great results doing that

ive also used that "spray and vac" stuff, if you have a vacuum that can deal with it, i used it on my door cards and fabric trims, and you spray it on, it goes on like oven cleaner, leave it till the foam has gone, then vacuum it all out, though i would test a non obvious spot first, it would suck for you to spray up the front and have it turn out its a bit too caustic haha D:

Yes, definitely spot test first if you are going to use any harsh cleaners, or anything for that matter.

Steam and a tiny bit of deoderant do wonders for almost all car upholstery, and in the safest manner possible.
