top feed injector dimensions

Postby Grrrrrrr! » Fri Aug 23, 2013 6:00 pm

Okay, so after getting throughly pissed off at how shit gen 2 3sgte fuel rails are, I found a top feed rail from a 3sfe that has the same injector spacings, so now i just need to make mounting brackets.

But I dont have top feed injectors yer or want to buy the injectors yet, so my question.. are all 11mm top feed injectors the same basic dimensions? (oring-oring length and bottom oring diameter are the important ones i guess?) in which case i can go grab some 4afe or similar econobox injectors from pick-a-part to mock things up with. Or do they tend to vary a bit in which case I better figure out exactly what i'm going to buy and get on with it.

Numbers i found were 11mm top bore, 63.5mm oring to oring (centreline) or 60mm between the grooves. and 16mm OD of lower o-ring

most top feed injectors are the same on my 4afe i used 4efte injectors they just bolted in nothing needed changing spacing was all the same but when i swapped to pink top feed Subaru injectors i had to get the plastic spacers that hold the rail to the manifold shorten on a lathe dunno if thats any use or answer your question but i thought id add my 2 cents.

yep, that is useful, now i can just rip out the injectors with the fuel rail at pick-a-part and use those to mock up for spacer dimensions.
