Alternator physically smaller than a 4AFE one?

Postby Rick » Fri Aug 23, 2013 5:07 pm

I am after a physically smaller bodied (mostly the depth) alternator than a 4AFE one, but still keeping the same mounting points and pulley offset etc, Is there such a beast?

Cheers

I think the 1e and 2e ones are smaller than the 4age units, not sure re 4afe though

2E ones are some of the smallest that have similar mounts,

but the spacing between the top and bottom mounts is smaller.

Can be made to fit though if you can adjust the top bracket.

I run them on my race car.

Sorry when you are saying "2E" are you talking about the 2E 1300cc Toyota motor?

was running one off a corona ST151 2S engine. they are the same as 2e alternator (55amp) but the plug is in a different location. will likely find this alot through the range, minor differences. so different part number.

2e will be a 4pk belt not a 5. but pulleys are a straight swap
