1NZ Coils in 20v 4AGE

Hey all,

Just wondering, will I need to run an adapter plate to run 1NZ coils on my silvertop?

TBH DIY - good old kiwi make your own.
Plate only really needs to bolt to one side of the cover so can be a strip of alloy - dont need fancy machined holes around the sparkplug hole itself!

Also - check that the spring at the bottom of the coil actually touches the top of the sparkplug.
Some sparkplugs are longer than others
I got several sparkplugs and checked their heights to decide on final length of the threaded rod I got welded onto my cover - thanks evilsi

I've seen the SQ engineering stuff, already got a few parts from him but wondered if it was necessary to use a plate or if I could avoid the $100 of getting one cut, I have the cad design.

The coils are a pretty tight fit - you can just jam them in and they won't fall out. In fact you're more likely to have problems with the fit being too tight - I had to sand off some of the plastic ridges to make them fit properly.

So, no need for an adapter plate.

I stick them on a lathe to make the diameter smaller.
A full adapter plate looks nicer. I think techarts in Japan make one.

I use a linisher to make the coils fit myself. I am not a big fan of the Tecarts model as to me it looks out of place and I could be wrong here but it seems to only suit the 1ZZ coils

ive made threaded bosses in the past and welded them to the rocker covers, looks tidy - no extra weight lol
