4AGE Bluetop Starts then Dies

Postby spoonza6 » Fri Sep 13, 2013 11:38 pm

AE82 Corolla GT Liftback
Bluetop 4AGE

Start the car, idles like shit, put foot down on gas pedal, dies instantly
Start car, foot on gas pedal, roars into life for a second, then dies
Start car, tap gas pedal on and off intermittently, runs, then chokes then runs

Left car, set alarm...will attack in the morning...

Where do I start?

Car broke down while driving home

On my particular car, how do I enable the diagnostic check
I don't think it has that diagnostic box

Try un-plugging the TPS to see if it runs better. Vac line to map sensor is a good place to start. Water temp plug connected properly? (Green one on back of head, two wires)

im not sure if this is even remotely related, but I used to own a skyline that idles like shit and would stall often. Turned out to be a clogged up throttle body. Everything went fine after cleaning it.

I would be checking fuel pressure.

Home DIY way is run the return line into a container,
as long as there is fuel flowing out the return there will be enough pressure,
as the regs are ultra reliable unless tampered with.

No flow out means not enough pressure.
