How to remove existing sub & speakers from levin rear sh

Postby softlad » Sat Sep 21, 2013 12:31 pm

Anyone know the correct procedure for taking out the Super live Sound System Sub & speakers from the rear shelf of a Toyota Levin?
It all fixes in from above the rear shelf, the main problem I have is how to remove the full shelf one piece speaker grill that covers everything up without destroying it.
I've levered it with trim removal tools but nothing popped so it appears to be more than just clip fixed ????

Thanks in advance

so you have removed the rear seats? and the clips along the front edge of the parcel shelf?

Once you have done that there are clips around the back edge of the parcel shelf, to remove lift up the front edge of the parcel shelf and pull forwards.

I hadn't removed them as i was thinking the speaker cover would come away on its own.
What you are suggesting is the whole of the parcel shelf plastic cover has to come out, not just the speaker cover

Yes remove the whole parcel shelf, the covers are held in by plastic pins that go through the parcel shelf and have a circular clip pushed onto them.
