4AGZE CAS faulty?

My 4AGZE turbo is at STM getting retuned again after a rebuild and turbo change, the tuner thinks that the CAS may need to be replaced since he is getting differences in peak power.

Does anyone know if the CAS can be rebuilt or tested as confirmation?

Just had a thought, I wonder if the CAS is getting too hot?

Get them to pull it off and spin the shaft

If it spins freely the cas should be fine and itll be a heat issue

If it goes crunch crunch crunch then the bearings have failed

Had the same issue on my RB25DET heat didnt help as the bearings expanded

One way to get it to work was adding cold oil to the head as it cooled it down enough to drive a few more km haha

IMO the only accurate way is checking for glitches or drop out while running with a scope.

I wonder what makes him think the power change is a cas problem? Might be just easier to try another cas?

Andre said he had the exact same problem a couple of months ago which was fixed with replaced CAS. Will be trying another one, fingers crossed its the solution.

How close are the coils to the CAS out of interest? Have had interference issues before due to this even with proper shielded cabling.

My coils (mitsi ones) are on the gearbox end of the head, so a reasonable distance away. Same setup as last time it was tunes 6 years ago and Andre (the tuner) said it didn't have the same issue back then. Have found another CAS to try but won't be until Jan at this stage.
