DPR fuel pressure regulator

So I just got around to looking at this thing I bought about a year ago, and Im stumped as to how it actually works. There is a fitting for fuel inlet, a fitting for vacuum, and a pressure gauge on the side. Theres also an adjustment hex. But there doesnt appear to be any outlet?? Maybe Im just having a slow day, someone have a look.

You sure that hex on the side is for adjustment? looks like a bung blocking off the port where the fuel inlet is supposed to be, and the barb coming out the bottom is the fuel return to tank.
Reality: A nasty hallucination that is caused by excess blood in the alcohol stream.

its a cheap chinese clone of a tomei regulator.

The bung on the side is removable and can have a fitting attached

Warning I am very hungover so could be incorrect

The bolt under the vac port is for the adjustment
Why dream it when you can live it

most importantly. dont use it. stick with factory regulator if you can

Factory regulator wont cope with turbo fuel requirements will it? Thats what I was led to believe anyway.

How big a pump are you running. If its a 255lph pump or less then factory regulator is probably more than enough.

As above, throw it away, or use it as a paper weight, but dont install it.

How much power are you making? Without knowing anything about your set up, its difficult to guarantee, but the factory FPR should cope fine with increased boost.

As always, just be sure to monitor your AFR's to confirm things are peachy. :)

A mate had a cheap chinese fpr on his b18cr civic and it fell apart at Pukekohe whilst on the track and he was bloody lucky he wasn't barbecued that day. I wouldn't trust a knock off part at all.

I run a walbro 500hp in tank pump and I have the standard FPR and I run 265kw/355hp in the corolla at the moment and I have never has any fueling issues.

Same Matt, I have a Walbro 255, and the factory FPR, and am running 280kw, not an issue.

Dont try and fix what isnt broken.

Ive had multiple issues with the walbro pumps and factory fuel regs not being able to cope with the increased fuel flow, resulting in higher rail pressure as high as 48psi,
Last one was on a 1uzfe in a hilux, high 40's rail pressure, ute would badly bog and stutter on take off, changed to an adjustable reg and set at 32psi it was perfect,

Wasnt trying to fix anything, just want the breathing room an adjustable unit supplies, if its needed in the future. Would be nicer to fix issues as they come up, say on the dyno, than have to stop and address them.

Its on now anyway, and set to stock pressure.
