92 Windom water squirters

Postby 92gtst » Sat Dec 28, 2013 2:00 pm

Ok My 92 Windom seems to have a slight issue with the windscreen water squirters......

The rear one squirts fine..... The front nothing from either one.... I've checked the hoses and as far as I can tell they are all hooked up ok (I've had the bonnet heatshield off until today so got a good look at the hoses on underside of bonnet)

Does the front & back squirters use the same water supply? I assume so as I haven't seen a window cleaner water bottle in the back.... There is ample liquid in the bottle. Are they powered off a motor? 2 motors? I know it's an obvious one but I do still have to go and prick the front squirters with a pin on the off chance they are blocked... Assuming pin pricks brings no joy what do I try next? I've felt under the windscreen cleaner water bottle and I'm sure the are no hoses not connected...

So anyone know where the gremlin might be? When I use the lever to try wash front windscreen the wipers work but no water gets sprayed....

Can you hear the pump operating?

Now that I think about it I don't think so, I think I just hear the wipers.... Is there a separate pump for front and back squirter's?? As the back ones work..

I'll check and listen more carefully when I next go down to car...

Id say would be seperate pumps. Most likly just blocked squirters, clean them out with a pin if they're not to bad

Not claiming this is the correct fix... but when I had blocked nozzles I just took them off the bonnet and blew the crap out with my air compressor. Still took a bit of fiddling, jamming a pin in might just jam the dirt further in the nozzle. Disconnect the nozzles from the hoses under the bonnet and see if the water sprays out of the hoses with nothing on the end. If it does, start working on the nozzles.
