Motul/TRD brake fluid

Postby Grrrrrrr! » Sat Jan 04, 2014 4:20 pm

Is north shore toyota doing this still? or how bout Mark? Trademe search shows nothing and i just ran out of RBF600 halfway thru bleeding after a master cylinder upgrade and need more.. supercheap doesn't carry this strangely enough.

Also, does anybody know if any of the racing fluids are a different colour.. like a red or green or something? would be good to be able to see when you've flushed the old stuff out....

theres ATE Racing Blue brake fluid but dont know where to get them. BNT also carries motul brake fluids.
On a related note anybody here used Castrol SRF racing fluid? Where to get them? apparently better fluid than motul.

Castrol SRF... Not sure I believe the price, but I do remember that sterling clutch and brake said the stuff was liquid gold.. And to think the FSAE team went through boxes of that stuff every year.

Isn't the TRD brake fluid just rebranded RBF 600?

Else Hitech Motorsport in Drury have it in stock all the time & you can usually get it from BNT as well, BNT Takanini usually has either RBF600 or RBF660 on the shelf.

As for Castrol SRF, yes it is like Liquid gold & it does work but compared to Motul & the other good brands it's a lot more expensive. More so when you need to do a full flush with SRF to remove any traces of old fluid before your run it.

I have found the TRD fluid to be priced better than the Motul, which I find odd.

Pretty sure the Motul/Trd stuff is more than enough for what I want, hillclimbs and bent sprints in a 220ish HP car wont tax the brakes that much :)
