Removing ST215 front indicator corner lamps??

Postby peas » Thu Feb 13, 2014 5:49 pm

Hey all,

I have a suspicion that these are just a pop out item but wanted to check before I go busting things. It is the corner light assembly that houses the indicator bulb that I am trying to remove. Apparently my indicator bulbs are not orange enough for a WOF! Can someone please confirm or direct me to the fastening(s) that might be stopping me removing the assembly and therefore the bulb?

Cheers,

Andy

Usually a little screw on top just under the bonnet, then knock them forward (usually quite tight). Orange bulbs tend to have the colour layer fall off them and then are just a standard bulb. Repco etc should have the right bulbs.

Awesome thanks man. I thought that was just the headlight but will give it a nudge. Surely there are orange LED ones that don't discolour and are bright as hell... brighter indicators would help a lot!

Removing the Caldina ones are a bit of a prick. From memory there's a spring you have to remove before the corner light will come out.

Here's a thread with more details. Turns out it's a clip you have to press with a long screwdriver in order for it to come out:

Hey thanks man. That's perfect. I searched ST215 indicator prior to starting this thread!! Either seem to get nothing in searches or everything! Those pics will at least get my head in the problem. Thanks again.

So after popping the lens off one of the light assemblies (partially due to my uninformed attempts) I have orange indicators again. There is indeed a clip (the middle of 3 lugs along the vertical join between indicator and headlight) that needs to be depressed to "unlock" the indicator which is then slid forward. You can just see it from the top and getting it is easier if you do it from the inner side not straight down I found.

My indicators are white too. Didn't realise the orange coating comes off. I think I'll replace my bulbs too :D
