A60 struts into KE70

I’ve been doing a bit of searching and can’t seem to get a definitive answer on this. In theory everything should bolt in to my KE70 without any dramas. I know I’ll need to use the Celica LCAs and SA63 PS knuckles (same length as AE86, 125mm?). Will be converting to coilovers so spring perches etc aren’t a problem.

The issue I need to resolve is the effect on camber. A lot of people say that it will give horrible positive camber that can’t be dialled out with adjustable strut tops. Others say that it is fine.
I know that Cressida and MA61 struts definitely have this affect but I’ve read that the 4 cylinder 60 series Celicas (RA60, AA60, AA63, SA63 etc) run a different kingpin angle. It actually looks like some of the MA61 guys are using RA65 struts as an upgrade to give an extra 1.5° or so of negative camber.

From what I’ve read the MA61 and MX73 kingpin angle is around 10.5° and the AE86 / KE70 is about 8.5° so in theory the RA65 struts should have almost no affect on camber in a KE70? Can anyone shed some light on this? Are there any other problems I've missed here?

I would keep your factory LCA's (or go KE30 for a little extra length) and get these, otherwise you could end up with interesting ackerman angles as steering arm length isn't the only important measurement -

Be careful what struts you get as well as there are variances among the 4 cylinder *A6* struts, TA63 with a 3T-GTE has the 100mm caliper bolt spacing to suit Skyline 4 pots for example but the 3T-E powered version has smaller brakes.

Yes fitting A60 series struts gives you wild positive camber. Unfortunately I've lost the pic I had that showed how much when I fitted AA60 (I think) Celica struts. But it was massive amounts.
I can't recall why I didn't use the Celica LCAs.

I extended my LCA's making them adjustable, Can't tell you by how much though, I've forgotten. Can't recall what steering arms I used either.

Yeah I did. To a KE70 wagon. About 5-6 years ago

Found where I uploaded some of the pics. Haven't got the positive camber mock up one. But I have one with the extended arms that shows a bit

The steering knuckles are the key here, like the ones revhead showed that will give the desired offset for the strut mount and the balljoint. I did look intot his with my ae86 and it'd need to use T3 or a similar designed spacer to give the negative camber.

The lower arms in that pic are extended to correct the camber. Like 30-40mm
