LC 200 question

Postby TONKA » Fri Feb 21, 2014 6:40 pm

Hi guys,
Im looking at upgrading my 100 to a 200 series cruiser
My budget only allows me to just afford 2007/8 diesel turbo vx
Ive done a bit of research and it seem early model 200 series had a problem with vaccum pump leaking oil through a poor seal and sixth gear not engaging until well over speed limit.
This was sorted out on later model cruisers but at 80k+ is out of my league
Toyota did come up with a better seal kit and a tweak to trans ecu to fix these problems
Does anyone(or someone who works at a dealership)know if they were recalled to fix?or what the cost is to remedy these problems??
Dont want to spend a whole lot of wedge to buy one and then find out after the fact it gana bankrupt me to get it sorted,Id be stoaked as if it looks after me as well as my 100 series has :D

no these were not recalled to fix, these were on fixed on customer complaint.
vacuum pump has been supersceeded to a improved one, which did fix a good portion of them
my understanding on the 6th gear is due to them being euro spec, and we dont have areas where we can do over 130km
but other than that these are awesome trucks, and i always enjoy driving them when work allows me too
