Recommend me a good tyre?

I'm looking at replacing the tyres on our RunX, not looking to cheap out but in 175/70/14 they don't need to be performance tyres. The car does half and half city/motorway driving, the Ecopias on it currently are pretty good at being efficient but the handling is pretty average at higher speeds, plus at $184 each they're quite pricey compared to other 14" tyres which with the average handling I don't think is justified. It has been years since I bought a new tyre that wasn't budget, so what are good, middle of the road brands? I'd like to go a bit wider if possible, how far can I go from the current size before running into problems?

185/65/14, 195/60/14, 195/65/14. All will be suitable size and barely throw the speed out by more than 2% or so. All should give you better options on sizes and treads too.

i got some neutons off tsoob a ways back, only had the car about 6 months after that but was quite impressed with them - particularly at the price point. just not sure how they wear. excellent bang for buck anyway, would fit again if i could get him to reply to PMs

The neutons are pretty good at their price point, can't really fault them for a daily driven car, however I have the on the back of the MR2 and they are still good for the car.
