Hiace starts lazy/funny?

Postby 92mr2paddy » Sat May 17, 2014 7:29 pm

ok so ive had my hiace for around 2 years now and its always started a lil strange, it will turn over once realll slow then turns over one more time quick and boom its idling, has started everytime since ive had it but last night it did like 5 slow as hell turn overs then just clicking,, (same sound as a flat battery), did it again and it did its normal one slow then normal and started just fine, has done it a few time since then during driving today, battery obviously not flat as it starts eventualy.

possibly starter motor?
bad connection? > where? by ignition or by starter?

cheers pat

All issue could be, start with battery get it tested, battery shop or auto sparky will do it for free. they only have life two year rest is bonus, battery termals clean wire attached. Earth cables attached clean attached, same with positive attached to starter. If all is ok start sounds like starter, if petrol could be timing too.

A guy at my work have the exact same problem, but only did it for a week before he changed his battery and it didn't happen again.
