New Semi Slicks - Do they need "running in"?

What are peoples thoughts. Got the first round of the Taupo Clubmans Winter series and a new set of Achilles 123's. Any particular do's and don'ts? Only the second set of brand new rubber I've had on the car in the 14 yeas I'e had it so not quite up with the play regarding this....

I've always done some road km's on new semi slicks, unless they're super duper softs (which a 123 isn't).

I have always given mine a run at say 70% to get some heat into them and get rid of the release compound , then let them cool down .
then they are usually good to go .

Yeah - 1 medium heat cycle followed by a cool down
Probably find a qualifying session will do the job as usually you don't get more than 1 or 2 fast laps due to traffic

Only don'ts for semi's are;
- Never use silicon/tyreshine on sidewalls
- Store out of the sun in cold dark place
- never force it in, you won't be doing anyone any favours..

That made me laugh!! Achilles couldn't be supplied by Sunday so now going with Nitto NT01 which are probably a better option anyway. Only the second set of new tyres I've had on the car in the 14 years I've had it!! Had access to lots of used Targa tyres but there aren't many Targa cars running 14 inch tyres anymore.
