cv replace, rebuild?

I'm getting a clicking noise while turning hard left in my car sounds like it's the driver side making all the commotion. I'm using ae101 gtz shafts. Now Toyota have discontinued the shafts and cvs for this model. Now I need to know what my other options are to either replace or rebuild the cv ends?

Try driving it full lock right for 2-3 circles, then reverse it for 2-3 more, then do the same with the steering at full lock left. Mine hasn't made a peep for years, about 7-9000 miles, though it was making noise & stopping for a while for about 1K during 3-4 applications of the above torture technique.

Rebuild, can you get new parts or just new grease & deburr the cage?

If it comes down to it, repco sells complete shafts for a reasonable price, hopefully they do the model you need!

GTZ ones used to be a b*tch to find the right ones for. I'd be very surprised if they have an off-the-shelf complete axle to suit. Rebuilds weren't too expensive though.

Not GTZ unfortunately :( Got some outer joints in for one yesterday, standard sort of CV price

If ur cheap, or don't have money to fix, swap cvs around will only make noise in reverse then, check rubber boots ok, joins full of grease. I'm doubtful driving at hard lock will do much.

Or if want supplier through BNT can rebuild them.
Would also see what option Bazda has or knows of.

BNT sell some other branded ones.
They are fine for street and circuit use. Not ok for drag use. The snout of the end breaks off really easy.
But rebuilding your current ones usually takes the click away.

I pull them apart, clean everything in petrol and then re grease with Redline CV2 grease.
All mine that were clicking were perfect after I did this.

Anything aftermarket is junk compared to genuine. Getting axles made is relatively cost effective with stronger CV's when you look at having to replace them quite often.. toyota still do the ae111 axles so we bought some of them and shortened to ae82 length. can change splines etc as well if needed. Or maybe a Rav4 or something may have a stronger CV that is available?

Unfortunately 4agze size CVs used the same as Camry or some others which are all discontinued. Nothing else fits.
The shafts also are MUCH larger than 4age items so also dont work.

I just get billet shafts made now, and I got a whole bunch of oem CVs I keep for drag racing haha.

the CV's from a supercharged AW11 aren't the same item you are looking for are they? i found a supplier who carries the AW ones and they dont charge the earth either.

Give me the spline count (inner and outer) and the oil seal diameter.
