AE115 Carib 4wd switch operation?

Postby matt dunn » Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:55 pm

Hay there,

Who has an AE115 carib with a switch on the dash labelled 4WD AUTO.

Wanting to know how the system works.

Does a light come on on the dash as soon as you press the button,
or do you have to drive a bit for it to come on,
or is there no light at all?

How do you know it is in 4WD mode?

Matt

The switch is actually labelled Centre Diff Auto,

and it had a blown bulb in the dash.

So the answer is that the light on the dash should come on as soon as you press the button.

As to what it does there is a solenoid on the centre diff housing,
but dont know much more that that.
Is only a single wire so will only be on or off and have no feedback as to what the diff is actually doing.

It's actually the other way around, the motor out of that will end up in the DX, lol
