does the lsd from a c56 fit in the 6 speeds ? Yes, had this done this myself, kept factory 6speed axles as well

or anyone know where i could find a set of trd or smiler gears for the 5 speed box ? there were a few companies that offered gearkits, I believe most of them are no longer available new. TRD did a few options http://www.trdparts.jp/english/list_race-mis_ae111.html

Have a custom output shaft and ring gear made = $$$$$$

what ratio final drive?
Do you want higher revs for the same speed? or lower revs?
Not sure if it will apply to 6 speed but.... several toyotas have similar (C series) gearboxes with different final drive ratios
Look at later model corolla gearboxes (AE12x and later) - they had bigger wheels so have a higher ratio final drive so revs are still about 3000rpm in 5th gear
Or
Look at gearboxes from starlets - they have smaller wheels so have lower ratio final drive. I know Starlet fans often get final drive ratios from corolla gearboxes and put them into their starlet gearboxes.

You will have to confirm what ratio is in what car yourself! dont believe everything on the internet...

Good luck
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Maybe get a 6 speed from late model corolla - it will have the final drive you want.
Swap the front casing over from an a (4afe/ge) series gearbox

The c160 has the highest final drive ratio (that i'm aware of) already, so apart from made to your spec custom parts, the best option might be to get a 5spd box and close ratio gearset. None of the factory 6spd C-series boxes have better ratios, except for a better 6th gear in a c64.

E58 (ae101 4agze) with 4.933 final drive bits out of a rav4 e250f could be an interesting and maybe cheap way of getting a high final drive ratio and sort of closeish ratios, but would probably require axles from a 4agze ae101 and maybe hubs?
