Pulled headliner board out of my '96 Corolla as the material was sagging. Will replace this weekend. Is there a trick to pulling the trim pieces that meet the headliner? I ended up prying with a plastic trim remover and pulling them off with force. Thankfully none broke.

Bought spark plugs, realized they were for a big port not a small port and therefore one heat range too hot (thank's bosch book hanging next to the sparkplugs at supercheap). Went back and swapped them

Then fitted, had a go at checking the timing but i think my dad's old lucas timing gun is shot.

Only sparkplugs for japanese cars I buy are either NGK or Denso.

Yeah i wanted to go NGK but they didn't have them in stock,

Any particular issues you foresee with Bosch? It had Bosch's in it previously too.

Thier range is not big enough,
that is probably why lots of places stock them.

There is about 20 difference ngk part numbers that will all cross over to one bosch part number.
Kind of like universal fit spark plugs.

I would not fit anything other than denso or ngk either.

Chucked a new headunit in the Aurion, upgraded to the digital climate control system instead of the dated looking round knob A/C panel, washed it then installed some LED headlight and park light bulbs:

Kiwi-Rolla thats a nice looking ride you have there.

I'm at the moment in the process of letting my Supra that I have owned for 15 years go and buy a 4 door and I must say I still want to stay with a Toyota 4 door option and seeing this Aurion gives me hope.I am also looking at an IS-F 2010 with the LSD is what I'm really looking hard at.

I am also doing a Lexus drivers day at Manfield on the 20th of Jun to test drive alot of there other models and give my Supra one last hiding round the track before probably letting her go.

Might want to get your beam checked on the LED headlights, iirc they ruin it just like running HID bulbs in non HID fittings = blind drivers coming the other way.

Cheers man. That's a long time of ownership for your Celica. Must be hard to even think about letting it go. The IS-F is very nice indeed. It's a shame the Aurion never had an LSD, but if you get the chance to test drive one definitely do as it'd be a good comparison.

Yeah I had thought about that, but the Aurion uses a projector style headlight and is the exact same housing they use for the HID headlights on the top spec Grande models, so there shouldn't be any unwanted scatter etc. I installed the same LED bulbs on my Corolla in the weekend too but I'll have to get the beam checked on those for sure as they're far from any projector/HID setup.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

To be honest it isn't really I've done everything I want to do over the years in this car.

I have been a fiend for speed over the years and at first I have to say it was illegal for example going out and doing twice the speed limit wasn't an issue for me and I just did it alot when I first owned the car.In saying this I grew up and pulled my head in and then found the track where I could drive as fast as I wanted which I preceeded to do.

But alas the way the car is setup and the age I'm at now honestly I just don't get to do enough of the above now so its the big reason really why am probably sliding to a slower more comfortable 4-door.

Thought I had a puncture so took the car into the tyre shop to find I have a cracked rim and a destroyed near new tyre. On the bright side I'm lucky it didn't blow out when I was on the open road yesterday.

Picked up my MPS. I haven't driven this since Jan because I wanted it to get a good freshen up over the winter. It's now back sporting a fresh forged engine, new turbo, mounts, new timing chain and vvt etc. Took it for a quick squirt around the block because I couldn't resist it after using only bikes/a family SUV for the past 6 months. It's got no rego so that's about as far as it'll get driven until I'm willing to spend ~$1k on that but so good to have it back.
