Never saw this at the time (2009) but it looks pretty damn good.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Hmm, I'd rather have the TRD Aurion to be honest. 323hp 3500cc supercharged 2GR-FE.

AUDM model I would guess, they did a blown Hilux too. Aurion has too much torque for a front tugger as is, would be wasted in that configuration

2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

both the hilux and the aurion come with draw backs.
Neither were particular well designed for the extra oomph provided.

I took a few calls from owners who shared their opinions on them when I had the chance to quiz them.

Lots of torque steer in the Aurion!

I recently bought an '06 Aurion Sportivo SX6 as a daily driver and I haven't really experienced any issues with torque steer as of yet. Wheel spin is more of a problem when taking off from a stop in a hurry, but the traction control seems to kick in quite well if it happens in the wet (a feature you can temporarily disable with a sequence of fancy footwork after starting the car). For something that looks like an ordinary family sedan it hauls a lot of ass, and for a 3.5L doesn't use anywhere near the amount of of gas I thought it would. Can only imagine how much better the TRD version would go with the extra hp and torque. Quite a few guys have been putting the 2GR-FE in AW11 & SW20 MR2's over the last few years, so if they perform as well as they do in a car that weighs 1600kg, imagine them in one that weighs 900kg!

Yeah there were only 537 of them ever made, but unbelievably the Queensland Police had 7 of them as their highway patrol cars! 8O

We had a '11 model Aurion Sportivo, it didn't really torque steer either, but jesus it would light up the fronts. Traction control seemed to consist of the light flashing on the dash

The Lotus Evora S has the supercharged 2GR in it so it's really the same thing as the TRD engine. They must go well but they are still 1436kg.

My previous torque steer comments were specific to the supercharge onesie.

Also you mention 900kg cars, that would take alot of effort in an AW11 let alone and SW20.
Can you point me in the direction of a build/s for a gr powered adub?

I'm curious to know what tyres you guys are/were running. I know there are a few more dynamics with fwd v rwd etc but our IS350 really didn't do well with nankangs but after I switched to potenza RE050 traction isn't much of an issue anymore.

Haven't seen a GRW11 but heres a nice GRW20 http://www.thesmokingtire.com/2015/vide ... -one-take/

When I worked at Toyota, I drove the then-new Aurion. It was the fastest car I had driven at the time! Parts were delivered promptly ;)
