I think I've had my 92 GT sedan 9 years (out of the last 12).

Still going strong, and I've had to start my third motorsport logbook on it now.

So she's done a few events now.

Had an oil leak from the front main seal,
so just finished putting it back together with a new seal cambelt and tensioner,

start it up and more oil now dripping out somewhere else,
looks like its coming out through the dist shaft now,
so time to rebuild the distributor.

Bought another supercharged AW11, because I have a problem and cannot stop buying cars

Every time I (infrequently) come on here you've bought something new to you!

Excellent choice!

Is that a 15" 16" wheel stagger? That looks really tidy. Some different wheels on it and it will look even better.

What do you mean, most of the cars I buy are tidy bodywise. None of them run though

14/16 actually, random as hell. Would love to find a set of Tom's C3-Rs like I had on my Levin, but wheels are last on the list. Get it running and dealing to the rust are first on the list

Very, very, very jelly. Always wanted a supercharged one. The only ones I ended up looking at back in the day were too raped/rusted out to be acceptable.

Did the Gumboot rally this weekend, 2 days of twisty roads, 700km's(40km+ on gravel) and only used 60L of gas
Had a few small issues with guard rub and a missfire under full load but otherwise had no hiccups.

Was all shiny beforehand.

Owned two of each now, unlikely to find a tidy SW20 GT for what I got this for!
If I ever get another SW it'd be a gen 4

Damn 16V oil leaks !!

Did the crank seal,
then it leaked out the dist,
put new seals and bearing in the dist and fixed that,
now it is still dripping oil on the floor.

Have pulled it apart again and it now looks like it's the cam seals.
I thought if they were leaking that you would see it with the top cambelt cover removed,
so I never replaced them when I did the crank seal and cambelt.
But it looks like when they leak the oil run down behind the backing plate behind the cam wheels,
and runs out and down the side of the block under the distributor.

Will have to get some seals and redo it all again.

Ditched my shitty Made in China Erisin Windows CE based stereo for a not quite as shitty Made in China Eonon Android one and painted my calipers red for ultimate rice spec (and the free +5hp the prepubescent salesperson at Repco promised me) 8)

I sprayed a $&#$% of CRC around the nuts and bolts I'll invariably have to remove to take the cylinder head off the AW. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be able to attack it!

Was done over a few days, but I decided to look at why the Corona was running cold all of the time, and things snowballed slightly

I figured I should remove the radiator and get it cleaned and tested as I could see muck in there, to my horror the radiator hoses fell apart in my hands while removing them, they would have all exploded instantly if the cooling system actually got hot and pressurized D:

So I bit the bullet and removed ALL of the rubber coolant hoses while I was there to get them replaced, they are all shot also, and hiding a pretty rusty cooling system, the thermostat housing and rear head coolant lines were crumbling and looking pretty bad, I hope they can be cleaned up and still have enough meat left to get a nice hose and clamp onto them

Broke a thermostat housing bolt trying to get to the thermostat, was able to get that out with the help of a friend, and the thermostat was clogged OPEN haha, so thats going to get replaced, we also removed the water pump, it was rumbly as hell and not long for this earth either

I gave the front end a degrease after all of this, and turns out there was indeed a pretty face under 30 years of oil and grime:

Image

Going to pick my friends brains this week and see just how involved it is to get the front timing cover off, as I would like to replace that gasket along with the front crank seal, I figure now is a great time to do this, as I don't intend on stripping it down that far ever again haha

Isn't it an extra 25kW?

What paint did you use for the calipers? I've just stated painting mine with Duplicolor brush on caliper paint but these are off the car. Makes it far easier I think, never painted calipers before.
