New petrol at Mobil??

Postby TRD_TOY » Wed Apr 13, 2016 9:04 am

Stopped in at the Mobil by work today for some gas and noticed they have a new 98.

Instead of min 97.5 like it use to be, it now says it is min 98.

Is this a new thing or what? Don't normally stop in at Mobil for petrol...

Tell them to send some to Invercargill, if they can get a single pump down here they will have a brand new customer in me for life

yup D:

Or Dunedin - neither are worth it distance wise, that being said when i leave for Christchurch on Friday, I'm planning to get to Dunedin on low fuel, and then 98 for the rest of the trip, with a final fill in Dunedin before going home

Last time I have been at Cromwell they changed BP to 95, it used to be Ultimate but no more.
Did they change it back to Ultimate?

Pretty sure there is no 98 in Central Otago. Highlands Motorsport park might have something, I know they have an on site filling station for you to use like a normal public station while you are using the track.
EDIT: Highlands carries 91, 98, 100 and diesel but this is not for normal use. And BP Cromwell do have 98.

Back on topic, I found this on the Exxon Mobil Australia site:

"Mobil’s new fuel products with an additive package:

Supreme+ 98 (98 Octane) is a premium grade petrol enhanced with a high quality multifunctional additive package for high performance vehicles. Supreme+ 98 is engineered for top performance and helps to improve engine responsiveness, engine efficiency, fuel economy and emissions."

They're also releasing: Extra 95, Special E10, Special Unleaded 91 and Special Diesel

I noticed that when I filled up in Mobil Kilbirnie the other week.

The old branded Synergy 8000 had a 10% ethanol mix.

I been on Mobils above fuels for ages car seem's to run pretty decent on it aswell.

It's good that they actually put the RON number on there too. Some stations (Caltex, possibly even Mobil etc) just have 'Premium' so you never really know what you are getting.
