Tire shops/installers Wellington

Postby GDII » Thu Sep 08, 2016 6:59 pm

Looking for a decent tire shop(s) in Wellington.
The shop must have good customer service, won't damage wheels at all, supply multiple brands at sensible prices and want my business.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Subscribed, for the same info.

Why is it so hard to find a place that values nice wheels as much as the person who paid for them lol

Pay peanuts, get monkeys. That said I've never had any issues with the local Tony's here, but I've never used them past getting a deal on tyres and having them fitted.

I said sensible, not cheap.
I've had issues with various Tony's shops but none were major and most of the time things were fixed. Just don't trust them to work on wheels I don't want damaged as that's happened before at most tire shops I've used.

I'm not putting them out of the equation, just after information on other places too.

Wasn't meaning tyre prices, most tyre fitters will be well under $20 an hour...

Ah yes, that's true. I applied for a few jobs at some tires places years ago, wage was well south of $20 an hour. Only way to make any money was to work long hours. I never got the jobs luckily.

Who do people with show cars and supercars use? Obviously my car isn't anywhere close to that but I value it just as much as if it were one.

I use my mechanic. He has a tyre machine in his shop and he is a personal friend, so understands my OCD

I could use my WOF guy. I can't really call him my mechanic as he doesn't actually do anything on the car except WOFs but I have a good relationship with him and he is the only person I trust with my car. I'm pretty sure they have a tire machine. I'll have to ask.

First I need to get the tires unless he can supply them too.
