C56 LSD identification

Hi all

I've been offered a C56 LSD gearbox and was just wondering, how on earth can you tell if it has an LSD? Looking online I'm getting varying information, some people say if you can see straight through the hole that the driveshafts go into it's LSD others say this is a standard open diff. Any ideas?

If your C56 has a factory LSD then it'll have a thick bar through the middle, so thick that you can only just see a tiny amount of light either side. A non-LSD C56 will still have a bar through the middle but it will be a lot skinnier.
