Caldina GTT Driveshaft bushing gone?

Post by Technohedge »

This is a pic underneath the caldina, looking at one of the driveshaft support mounts. Has the mount gone? (looks like its not centered) or are they always like this?

Have a knocking noise when i come off the throttle under the car and wondering if this is the culprit

cheers

Cool thanks man,

is that the correct part number on there? Are they easy enough to swap out?

That is ONE of them. There are 2 bearings but I don't know which one yours is.

As for changing them out, I have no idea but I'm sure the internet has information on how to do this. The Celica or any Toyota/Lexus of the 90s should be the same.

Ok ddoes nyone know how i split this beast apart? There is a bolt in the left end of it i can probably remove to get the left hand bearing off. But how does the right hand side split?

Any reason there are two hanger bearings on the caldina whereas loads of others seem to have only one?

Look your car up on here: https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/toyota?_s=h

It should show exploded view of parts

Seems like the CV joint needs to be opened up to access the end bolt for it. Same as the other end you can get access to easier.
