AL
Arriving around 8am for safety checks and documentation that will finish at 8.40.
Driver Briefing at 8.45am
Familarisation Laps 8.55am
First group out around 9.05am.
If anyone arrives late and misses any of the above you will have to wait unitl you have had your safety check and driver brief before you will be allowed on the track. So if anyone turns up late come and find me and I'll get your paper work done, safety check and briefing done.
See you all there.

I said it on the day, but here it is again.
Thanks so much for an awesome day Chelles, look forward to Manfield!
What made it super awesome was knocking 1.8s off my previous PB (48.7 down to 46.9! - ok, so I did a couple of things that helped me along the way
)
And it was top notch by-product too, several Toyotas moved aside for a Honda. There's the cherry right there
Where are the pics?!

I'm pleased you all had fun, and you are more than welcome. The whether was perfect and the day ran smoothly thanks to everyone following instruction. Thanks for that guys.
It is a shame that my Mirage packed a hissy as I would have loved to be racing out there with you all.
Here’s my report of the day…
Getting to the track at 7.45am to find a couple of keen people already there was impressive indeed. From the moment I got to the track, the day went very quickly indeed.
Safety checks, driver briefing and familiarisation laps all done by 9.15am with the first group out on the track. The first group was an eventful one. A little red mirage on cold tyres, cold brakes and cold driver went off on his first lap into the tyres at the beginning of the S’s stopping play for around 15 mins. Also a little White Mitsi
got clutch fade.
With a red flag to get everyone off the track so we could get the red Mirage to safety we waited to have the first group back out for part two of their first run. Things were looking up until a black Evo had a moment at the same place the red Mirage did spitting dirt all over the track stopping proceedings again for a track sweep. Finally group two got out to finish their run and things started to get better from there.
My little Mirage appeared to be fixed so I jumped in for a quite drive to make sure the clutch was going fine. Yup all seemed fine. Then when Craig took it out again the clutch was gone. So that ended my day for racing. (Cost $43.83 to fix with a new clutch line and about half an hour at Taupo Brake and Clutch this morning. There was a pin hold in the line and when it was hot the fluid leaked out and clutch goooone)
Other things of note were the Turbo’d AE86 Levin. Cripes did that thing fly around the track!! It sounded rather interesting with all its popping and banging, nothing like a Super GT car to impress the crowd.
Also later in the day one of the FXGT’s ‘threw a leg out of bed’ meaning… rod verses block = hole and rapid loss of oil.
I’d say several sets of brake pads died, I noted a green GSR changing his late after noon along with some creative panel beating in an attempt to get some rather large rims and tyres to fit under the rear wheel arches of the Daihatsu.
There was a good cross section of cars on the day with Honda’s and Toyota’s playing nicely together. Well done boys I was pleased about that indeed.
I’m sure others have their story to tell, that is just a very brief outline from my side of the pits.
I’d like that say thanks to Ken (KinLoud) who took people out for rides in his mighty Carina and thanks for the help on the day too. A huge thanks to Ben and the boys who were my flag marshals sterling job there.
Thank you everyone for coming along and making it happen… See you at Manfield

you're welcome
Good time considering how cold the track was and tyres would have struggled for warmth, well done!

That would be me... #4 Rod decided it wanted to make a break for the outside world.. and did so quite specatularly at the end of the straight. Enough force was placed on the block by the rod, that it manage to spit parts of the block into the radiator, puncturing that beyond repair. See below for the resulting hole...
you can also see where the rod has smacked the other side of the block, gouging my pretty paintwork
RIP Blacktop block, crank & Rod... (and maybe piston and valve(s))
Motor is ready to pull out of the car now, just have to get an engine crane. Then will pull down for inspection & diagnosis asap thereafter.
Thanks to chelles for the organisation of the day, and also Kinloud and the various others whom i rode with during the day.
Cheers
Andrew
P.s. it died well before lunchtime

Damm looked like a good day.
Any idea what the ae85/86 ? was doing around the track ?
Any truth to the track being a little faster after renovations (old circuit) something about more angle on the banks.
Any idea what the fastest times were like for the day ?
