Yup. The only reason the sw20 mr2 weighs 1270kgs is the safety and over engineering thing. Im sure Toyota could have quite easily made a sub 1000kgs sw20 mr2....but that would have been too nuts :D

How ironic about this post.

My friend and I wer in search of the native poonani on saturday night.
We decided he would drive, as I was stupidly drunk.
On the way back, he goes way to fast around a blind corner (120kph)
to find a taxi in the middle of the road.
He swerved, the car got airborne, and we hit a light post. (it folded around 1 metre off the ground.) and the skidmark is massive.
It smashed two of the mags, took a big chunk out of the curb too.
we both are unhurt.

so the poor ol levin is now deceaced. :(

now a proud *cough* owner of a 93 mazda capella auto
(his dad signed it over to me to pay me back)

Hmm, well, i would rather be in an mr2 personally...i know i'd rather have metal folding/collapsing around me than an engine being shunted thru a firewall at me, etc :) In any case, if the accident was THAT serious, i dont think it would make tooo much of a difference, as luck would play a bigger part than anything else.

From a different perspective tho, providing all occupants were okies, then i would rather have an mr2 to sell for parts than a levin cos the engine would prolly be in better post-crash condition too...less go-fast bits to RE-purchase too then!! :D
