What RomanV said really, as soon as I read the first post, i'm thinking, is this really a NZ first? The car's probably more of a American record (if it's a record) just driven by a New Zealander, and in Aussie.
Sure I mean you need the skills to set it up to run on the track and then drive it down as well to get that times, but I don't think it can truely be called a "NZ Record", not in my books anyway.

they have still made a fair few of their own changes to the car from when they brought it, including the computer and therefore the tuning side of things correct?

I basically reckon one of the big reasons Rayglass bought a turn the key package is costs now I'm thinking to start from scratch and all the R&D required to attain a car like this is going to costs a minumun 1/2 mill even up to a million dollars and thats no joke.I'm pretty sure Heat Treatments with the development of there GTR would have spent this over a period of time so this is I reckon a turn the key package is the way to go.
Sure its not born and bread Kiwi no doubt but there getting this car down to some serious E.Ts now with the changes they are making.Another thing to remember is vs Heat Treatments and Gas Motorsport the Rayglass car is going to be making probably 500 HP less than these to cars and to be less than 1/2 tenth behind the 6.68 of the Gas Car well I think fair bit of Kiwi no how is gone into that so its a big ups from me.

Definitely, they are doing very well and intend on beating the times Scranton ran in the States - once they have done that I expect a fair amount more due credit should be given as Rayglass are in my head a much smaller team. At the end of the day I doubt I could buy a car at the state they bought it in and then make it run 6s on Meremere, so my hat has to come off to them
As a side note, the Heat Treatments GTR's RB26 has cracked 1800hp.... a part of me really wishes they used that in the 350Z chassis just to see how fast they would go with it. I reckon that would be more than enough for some really sharp times.

Rayglass runs a 3.25l 2JZ. Heat Treatments figure is impressive indeed.
