Do you mean a Soarer? Where can I get one for $4000? I've looked on tardme and anything that price has done over 200 000km. The engine will be fine, but everything else will be shagged.
The shocks are probably shot, bags might be fine. Even though I imagine you'll be wanting to convert it since you're after a UZZ30
I'm guessing that the door hinge is shagged which is usually what causes that kind of damage......you can't force a Soarer door unless you drive a truck into it
The door trims are falling apart, and the AC lcd is bleeding

you should seriously look at the aristo on trade me. it is in wellington. appeared very tidy when i saw it, and ran a 13.6 on street rubber! very strong for such minimal mods.plenty of power, very reliable.8 grand buys you a lot of car! it's good value.

I agree with Blake, An Aristo is also a good car, if you like their rather sedated looks. I like them myself but alot are way overpriced.
But for soarers.........
Well you get what you pay for with them (most of the time)
Best bet is to get one off an older owner, thats has it completely factory or near to. They tend to look after them and as a result are in nicer condition and well maintained.
As Mr.Phreak says, even though they are reliable usually there are loads of problems, but they are small & don't cause any major issues, just small things here and there will be a problem, like door hinges screwing up - always annoying or bleed A/C displays - the Dash with the speed/revs can play up too and need some electrical components replaced. With lot of small problems it can get annoying, I'm going through mine and correcting most of them - my soarer's engine and engine bay is getting an overhaul at the moment. Going well so far!
If you go for a air suspension model, take it out like I did on my UZZ31 Soarer, its a waste of time and the shocks are usually totally stuffed (I sold the old struts for 200 a pair! Hah) Don't go for a UZZ32 if you find one, they are an expensive car to own because of their hydraulic suspension system but they are rather rare. Most will be UZZ30's or UZZ31's
They are great cars, as long as you do the main thing to maintain them they go well and won't get many issues - but they are old so the odd thing will fail like coolant top tanks etc.
On the whole, they are quiet and comfortable, nothing from Japan really compares to them, especially for the money.

Yeh. Its already on my watchlist. But why is it $3000 less than the others? It is a wee bit banged up. But $3k worth? What else is wrong with it?
You have to be patient man.
The prices have gone up for them recently because of petrol price i guess which is a bummer but they will come down. they dont stay popular forever.
I was looking at them start of last year and $4000 was buying a decent one.
