^^ Exactly there is no problem, i dont see how in any way that it is being childish or any of the other reasons people have stated, to me its just trying your luck if there is a small chance of getting of why not try? If you cant be bothered than just pay up, if you cant afford it wait three months until you get a pink letter i think it is go into the courts or where ever you go say you cant afford it and pay it off $10 a week
I couldn't careless to be honest, as I said each to their own. I just personally accept the consequences of my actions. I'm not saying everyone should, don't get me wrong, do what you like.
I just wonder sometimes about people that can't/don't accept such responsibilities, its not about the money its the principal of that matter. Avoiding blame etc, that's just my opinion though.
I hardly see a leak in a pipe a valid excuse for breaking the speed limit. But you do, everyone has their own opinions, just stating mine. You paying your fine or not doesn't affect me in the slightest.

Thank god you’re not the cop writing off the fines then
My mate who has had a few fines and has written in more than a few times does not get let off anymore as he's proven to be a recidivist speeder.
I tend to stick to the speed limit so for me this was the exception and not the rule

Hole in intercooler piping causing erratic acceleration and over boost![]()
That and the fact I stated I was on my way to get it fixed.
No money paid - 67ks in a 50k zone - speed camera.
I'm not shitting you either
Haha, classic, I suppose the gods were on your side that day as I would have thought that writing in with that as an excuse could have given you another fine for having an unsafe vehicle on the road?

Just because someone wants to play the fool doesnt mean they dont accept responsibilty for their actions, although sometimes its hard to draw a line.

i agree, an unsafe car is hardly a good excuse
we get told and told again - if you get caught speeding to a fire brigade callout, nobody is on your side - so no excuse is really relevant

And yet people are let off every day.
But I would say being a volenteer firefighter should hold some weight, attach a siren and flashing lights!!

the logic that an unsafe car is stupid and makes it ok to speed?
by law youre only allowed to exceed the speed limit if you are in an emergency vehicle and are responding to an emergency under lights and sirens and have had appropriate emergency response driver training.
driving from my house (or anywhere else) to the fire station so i can respond legally must be done obeying all road rules (im not saying i respond to the station in a legal mannor, take this morning for example haha. but if i get caught its my problem)
