Post by Tablets »

just wondering.. if i stole another celica or supra 5spd for me holden, it would require certification right? is it the same to cert an extensively modified car as it is to cert a single mod like this?

haha yeah guess so man. pretty easy to tell the difference between a stock '73 holden box and a later model toyota box though

btw i mean 'stole another' as in, another dirty holden driver pinching the mighty toyota 'w' series boxes, not replace one i already have fitted

maybe if i chuck mud on it he wont notice

man you would be surprised what they don't notice... i put a manual box, a 4age, TA63 front struts and brakes and an AE86 diff in my car, so essentially none of the driveline was standard and they still gave me a warrant without a cert hahahahaha

But chances are the insurance assesor that checks it over if its in an accident wont be so dim. Be careful cos its all good and well getting a WOF but insurance will take any excuse not to pay you out.

If I had a 2005 Bentley I wouldn't think twice about spending a measely $300.
It would be like buying a packet of gum with my garlic onion steak roll. Minute expense but necesary none the less

I mean, if I can afford a Bentley 8O may as well get two certs

I think he meant if you crashed your POS car with un-certified modifcations into some upstanding citizen's 2005 Bentley, the claim against your insurance would be declined, leaving you with $250k to find. I believe the phrase used here is "bend over and grab your ankles" 8O

Yup, and people get so pissed off it is only $5 a week they don't even seem to care when the person stops the payments...people I know who have done it never haven't heard about it since, many years later... 8O

Some people don't forget though.
My Aunty and uncle go to court every year to get the girl who hit them re-assessed. She keeps saying she has no money and can't pay anything. She is at Uni living off her parents so technically has no income, but as soon as she finishes and gets a job she is going to get hit hard.
They would have been happy with at least some attempt to pay it back but the girl flat out refused to do anything even though her parents (who owned the car she was driving) could easily help her out and she has access to a student loan. Its only $4k but its the principal of it, her parents fixed the car and gave it back to her but is not counted as her property because its not in her name.
