Engine Vibrates!

Post by coolnik12 »

Hey guys iv noticed that my engine of my trueno vibrates a lot when the car is stopped and on drive, like you can see the bonnet vibrate. When i shift it to neutral it doesn't vibrate. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does its really annoying. What could be wrong? :o

EVERYTHING!!!! might need a new flux capacitor unfortunately. :o

best bet of figuring this problem out is having a look under your car and trying to narrow down the problem so the helpful folk on here can help you with further queries. you will learn a lot more that way too. :D

my bet would be on either a stuffed engine mount or maybe if you have recently purchased the car, that it infact has solid mounts. in which case; take them out and put std ones back in. - so engine mounts would be the best place to start.

Not really, checked it this morning. Seems fine. Someone told me it could be due to air not flowing through properly? Removed my POD and fitted the factory box on. Still does the same thing.

I think that's the engine's way of telling you that it's running. Just about every auto I've driven does similar when it's in drive with your foot on the brake - the engine is trying to work and you're not letting it.

Could also be the idle set a bit low - maybe only 100 revs - or an idle up valve not working correctly. With your foot on the brake the alternator probably loads up dropping the idle a wee bit. It'll probably get worse if you turn your lights on as well.

This is a common problem with these and the only real remedy is to replace the engine with a 1uz.

you cant check a rear engine mount just by looking at it, the rubber hides cracks really well, best way is to put it on a hoist and rock the engine back and forward to see if it peals the rubbers,
i had this problem in the girls auto ae111 and it was rear engine mount.

or strap a horey great turbo to it...

seriously tho man its gonna need to go on a hoist and have a good look around under it there, could be a number of things but engine mount is a likely culprit
